This series on wedding gown styles began a few years ago when I needed to research them for one of my favorite characters, Harriet Ruby. It was fun, and I’ve written an updated blog every year since, focusing on either spring or fall styles. I have no idea if anyone is interested, except the winner of the worst gown, or at least the gown in poorest taste to wear to a real wedding, always get a lot of hits.

Never a fan of haute couture, I have long believed fashion designers are men who hate women and have found a way to make them suffer perpetually for whatever ill they caused. As a result, I find some of the fashion designers have taken this idea to heart in some of their designs, although now there are many women designers who have jumped on the bandwagon. Who knows what their problem is.

TRENDS for the 2021 SEASON
COVID 19 may have sent the wedding industry into to tizzy, along with the rest of the world, but it has done little to change the styles of wedding gowns. The usual standard are still there with seasonal trends that bring interesting new twists or unusual uses of the styles and accessories that have been around for years.
According to Brides.com, Harpers Bazaar, Vogue and others, the fall trends include the following. Rather than comment on the styles, I’m merely showing photos of the represented trends. You can decide which one you think are good design ideas, those that make a woman look hideous, or maybe neither.
